The Western New York Chapter of
the Labor and Employment Relations Association (formerly
Industrial Relations Research Association) works to improve the
knowledge and understanding of labor, industrial and employment relations
by providing opportunities for open dialogue among labor, management,
academe and government agencies. The Association generally meets
once a month from Fall through Spring and brings together the labor
management community in Western New York. The normal format is a dinner
meeting preceded by a social hour. Experts from various aspects of labor,
industrial and employment relations drawn from the local and national
level present controversial and educational programs touching on the
current vital issues in labor, industrial and employment relations. In
addition, periodic conferences organized around a major theme attract
practitioners to study topics of mutual concern and interest.
